Our commitment to advance women in construction, at all levels

At Every Trade, we pride ourselves on gathering the best leaders and workers in the industry, while we continue to excel in highly specialised fields.

Our commitment to encouraging the participation of women in construction has greatly benefited our business as a whole, with our ongoing success and sustainable growth a testament to the women who work within our business, at all levels.

This commitment is aligned with the NSW Government’s investment of $20.2 million over three years to attract more women into the construction industry, setting an ambitious goal of women occupying 15 per cent of trade and non-traditional roles by 2030.

A central tenet of the business

Laura Tarabay, HR Coordinator at Every Trade, eloquently explains how the company values and the promotion of women’s participation in construction are so intertwined:

Two of our values here [at ETG] are integrity and respect, and I believe that those values are relayed into everything we do: in the construction space, and in the office space.

So we are builders not just of spaces in the community, but also of spaces for individuals to thrive.  We absolutely encourage women to work in construction. We have women in the office space, we have women in the trade space, and we have women as interns looking to be project managers, and contracts administrators. Women are an integral part of our company.

But we don’t just support it, we go further than that by instilling in our policies and procedures a requirement that a percentage of our workforce are women so that we have that representation.

Internship strategy

Every Trade believes in supporting the next generation of construction experts in gaining the knowledge, skills and business acumen to thrive in their careers.

Supporting women in construction internships is central to revitalising the industry, and we are proud to have women interns within our business, training them to excel in their chosen position.

Encouraging women to take up opportunities at Every Trade aligns with the NSW Government’s Women in Construction Strategy and will in turn contribute to achieving gender equality in the construction industry.

Hear from those in the industry

Danielle Robely is a Tender Coordinator at Every Trade and she loves being able to witness a project evolve from an idea into a ‘bricks and mortar’ space.

“I look at the proposals and the scopes and put them together so we can win the jobs…then I get to see the end result,” explains Danielle.

“So everything we work on for hours in the office then comes to life every day.”
